Black Friday Holiday Shopping: Call Of The Freaks!

black-friday-crowd.jpg

The holiday season has started. People are prone to shopping madness about now. Folks are willing to spend the night in line at Best Buy to be first in line for a video game. Men and women alike are elbowing each other in the aisle, as they race towards that toy which will bring joy to their children. I know for a fact that right at this moment there is an altercation over a parking space that will probably go to blows...

Thanksgiving: A Holiday For The Birds

I can't look at a Thanksgiving recipe site for too long without drooling on my laptop. I do love a good turkey dinner. It doesn't have to be exactly on Thanksgiving, either! I aint too particular on that one. I love to eat. Everyday.
But on this holiday I don't forget to add to my prayers, the meaning behind Thanksgiving. The Native Americans really helped them pilgrims out and deserve recognition.

But when it comes to music...

Bob Dylan Still Going Strong

" Bob Dylan's return to Berkeley, where he played one of his first electric shows with the Hawks more than four decades ago, clearly meant a great deal to Saturday's standing-room-only audience at the Greek Theatre. Where else were you going to find more people whose lives are so wholly entwined with the 68-year-old folk singer's songs of politics and personal liberation than in the city that gave the world both the Free Speech Movement and backyard hot tubs? But for Dylan, who has..." (Read more)

Pandora's Box Of Confusion

"On first listen, some things grab you for their off-kilter novelty. Like the story of a company that has hired a bunch of “musicologists,” who sit at computers and listen to songs, one at a time, rating them element by element, separating out what sometimes comes to hundreds of data points for a three-minute tune. The company, an Internet radio service called Pandora, is convinced that by pouring this information through a computer into an algorithm, it can guide you, the listener, to music that you like. The premise is that your favorite songs can be stripped to parts and reverse-engineered..." (more)

Top Ten Sex Fantasies For Women?

Hmmm...I typed in Top Ten Women into the computer and

is this just how y'all do it now?
Whew Wee! Glad I aint blind NOW! Lordy...
My question is what do y'all talk about if everything is up on the computer to read?
Here is the top of the article:

Top Ten Female Sex Fantasies

( ok...I'm thinking...)

# 10 Domination (her dominating you) -Women love a big strong man who can sweep them off their feet and carry them into the sunset... (I'm big and strong)

#9 Domination (you dominating her) -The advent of the metrosexual is most commonly blamed for this top 10 female sex fantasy. It seems that...(continue reading Top Ten Female Fantasies article)

Whatever...back in my day, we KNEW they wuz always thinkin' 'bout it. And it was up to us to say somethin' real to 'em. Write some poetry. Or a letter. Talk to them before they start talkin that crazy talk...go on a long romantic walk with them on the river...if it's romantic and you are there, then assume the fantasie is about you!
Or...
Write a song about her.
That's my favorite way to find out about them female fantasy thingamajigs...

How To Be Guitar King

Hey y'all...how ya doin' in these here rough times? Got plenty to do? Good. Keep yourself busy and you won't get to worryin' about things that don't need worryin' about. Take it from somebody who grew up in some hard times. Early America...where a blind man might a seen more trouble than y'all could ever imagine. So keep yourself busy. Ya got plenty a toys and things to entertain yourself. Laptops, phones, mp3 players. Video games. Just keep your mind occupied while you work at something. That's exactly what I did. And it worked out for me. If a blind man can make a living, then that's proof enough that America is a land of opportunity. So create your dream with the passion you were born with. Or whatever it is you need to do. And do it. Don't sit around talkin' about somethin' you aint done yet. Talk about somethin' ya already done did. But not for too long. Make somebody's ear fall off, if you talk too much about yourself. Just do the darn thing. Old Tommy did it. He ended up a guitar King...

The Best News In Blues So Far...

" It's latest form has taken shape nicely in Akin Babatunde's sweetly enthralling performance as the title character in "Blind Lemon Blues," an inspired, highly original tribute to blues singer and guitarist "Blind" Lemon Jefferson.

More than just a revue of Jefferson's countless country blues classics, this abstract narrative tells the story of his rise from a legendary street musician in Dallas to a top-selling recording artist who became a seminal influence on American popular music. "

Curiosity Wrote Some Songs

" When God told Adam he could eat of all the fruits of the Garden of Eden, but not of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, he placed what has been called a “provoking object” in Adam’s eyes. The provocation was to go beyond the boundaries God had established and thereby set himself up a rival deity, a being with no limits on what he can conceive, a being whose intellect could, in time, comprehend anything and everything. "

From an article called Does curiosity kill more than the cat? (NY Times)

Now I don't know about all that. But what I do know is that curiosity wrote some incredible songs in my day. Have you ever been curious where your girl done slept last night? You ever wake up and wonder about these things in the morning? And you think about it for so long that by the time dinner rolls around you've written your self a fine little diddy that goes somethin' like this, here...

Leadbelly – “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?” mp3

And if you heard this before, maybe it was that Kurt Cobain boy who done it unplugged.
And he's somebody ya take advice from as far as curiosity goes. He went ahead and found nirvana instead of being curious about it.
Ok now...do your self a favor....and write more songs about your curiosity. And if you can't sing 'em your self...there are plenty of folks who can.

Kennedy Remembered By Obama At Funeral

These words from President Obama will be remembered forever. At Senator Ted Kennedy's funeral, many hearts were touched and brought together in the wake of this tremendous loss. The state of Massachusetts will be changed for a long time. The entire country will have to figure out if there will ever be a man like him again.

Here is an excerpt from yesterdays eulogy, given by President Barrack Obama:

"He was given a gift of time that his brothers were not. And he used that time to touch as many lives and right as many wrongs as the years would allow," Obama said in a eulogy that also gently made mention of Kennedy's "personal failings and setbacks."

As a member of the Senate, Kennedy was a "veritable force of nature," the president said. But more than that, the "baby of the family who became its patriarch, the restless dreamer who became its rock."

Those left behind to mourn "grieve his passing with the memories he gave, the good he did, the dream he kept alive" Obama said inside the packed church

That's from this article

Those are some mighty fine words.

What is a shocker to me is what Huckabee said about both Obama and Kennedy a few days ago. He couldn't even wait for the funeral to pass.

Did you hear what that devil said?

Check it out...

The 2008 Republican presidential candidate suggested during his radio show, "The Huckabee Report," on Thursday that, under President Obama's health care plan, Kennedy would have been told to "go home to take pain pills and die" during his last year of life.

Sex Sex Sex...The Nature Of The Beast

I love the internet. It aint nothin' like I was ever used to in my day. I read an article today about the sweet taboo. The horizontal ballet. The Olympic Pillow games. The hide and seek swap. The magic pickle dance. You know...sex. Now a days you can say it, think it, talk about it, use it for advertisments, sell products...and more importantly, criticize it to the bone marrow.
Here is a little bit of what I read:
"Let's start with the experience of sexual energy. You can try this exercise by yourself. It helps if you know how to do pelvic rocking. Lie down with your knees bent, feet about hip distance apart, and your low back flat on the floor (don't try this if you have back problems). As you rock your pelvis back with a slight arch, breathe in and as you tuck your pelvis, breathe out. Do this for just a few minutes and then lower your knees, straightening them to rest on the floor and continue breathing. Visualize energy moving up your spine with the in-breath and moving down the front of your body with the out breath." (read more)

Ok...honestly? I had to go to the bathroom for a minute and readjust my libido. You see, the problem with folks these days is that on the topic of sex, hardly anybody leaves NOTHING TO THE IMAGINATION. We need more people with a discrete attitude about it. Listen to this man talk about sex the way WE used to...we called it love.

Blues For The Auto World: Who You Callin' A Clunker?!

All the best cars were made back in the good old days. What's wrong with gettin' old?

That is a natural process. Some a y'all be throwin' old people away into homes. Must be the new culture...

And all I hear now is that these new cars are "healthier" for the environment. Whatever the hell that means. Maybe if there was only 15 cars in the world. But because EVERYBODY needs one, I aint really sure if it's gonna make that big of a difference for the environment, with these "new" state of the art vehicles. The factories that make the damn things aint runnin' on bio fules.

But I guess the point is that folks are steady tryin' to make a difference. Which I can't really argue against. The government is tryin' this cash for clunkers idea. Gettin' them old cars off the road to make room for the newer ones. Go ahead Obama. Do yo thang, brothah. AT least he makes it sound good. That last fool would a said something stupid by now.

Meanwhile THIS brothah has a song for the auto industry, regardless of how many clunkers we throw in the bunkers...

Dope Is Called Dope For Two Reasons Now

Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz, the sluggers who propelled the Boston Red Sox to end an 86-year World Series championship drought and to capture another title three years later, were among the roughly 100 Major League Baseball players to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003, according to lawyers with knowledge of the results. (article from NY times)

These lawyers are like bloodhounds with a rolodex and a computer. Nothin' escapes their wrath for legal vengeance. I guess with all the world's news and head lines, two more Baseball players are just gonna blend right in. Why? Why do Baseball players need to take dope? The sport is pretty laid back as far as I can tell. Let the football players take the dope. And the Hockey players. They need it more than a bunch of grown men just standin' around waitin' for somebody to do something exciting. Maybe dope enchances the game for the players because they get so bored. I dunno...

40th Aniiversary For Apollo...gr8...Now What?

NASA is finishing construction of the station, a $100 billion project of 16 nations, and plans to retire the shuttle fleet next year. After that, the United States plans to pay Russia to ferry crews to the outpost, which orbits 225 miles above Earth.

"We've spent a lot of money up there for almost nothing. It's almost a white elephant," Apollo 13 commander Jim Lovell said. "Until we can really get a return on our investment on that particular project, then it was money wasted."

One small step for man....one giant economic disaster for mankind.

Seems to me these new NASA folks aint really tryin' to hear what the WEED is for! Look y'all, if you want minimal spending for a useless outer body experience...get a card and go down to the club and get some Lunar Crush. Or some Galaxy Quest. Maybe some Rocket Red Eye. Otherwise spend the big money on the kids. Before they grow up and start complainin' about everything like we do. Broke.

Feed 'em. Clothe 'em. Educate them. But don't make these poor kids look at the heavans above wishin' on a star that's made of steel. That aint right. And it always ends up as something we regret as people. Listen to these children sing about a penny waitin' on change.

Obama Needs Baboon Strength Against Republican Steele

Somebody just told me that the Republican chairman, Michael Steele...is a black man. Now, I'm not surprised that he's black. A black man can be anybody, just the same as anyone else. Even a if it means being a Republican. I guess...

But what I am surprised at is the fact that he is hatin' on poor people of all race, ethnicity, religion and creed. Even short folks!
He's hatin' on ALL THE POOR PEOPLE IN AMERICA! Tell me how a brothah is just gonna get up in front of the whole damn world and do that! This whole health care issue that he is yammerin about is all about poor folks. And he said it in a way that he didn't have to say it, exactly. And I hate when people do that. They just leave it out in this nonchalant, pedantic and passive aggressive way. Poor folks hate that about "educated" folks.

Steele was talkin' about" docors and patients make the decisions" about health care and not the government. And didn't finish the sentence! Hater. Because so far in America, leaving it up to doctors and the patients who can afford health care, is like blatantly leaving out poor folks from the system. Which makes more health care issues. That don't ever get addressed. And this Baboon wants to keep doing that to poor people? Don't he know what a fool that makes him look like? Look at the rest of the world, ya ignorant politician! Maybe you should actually read the bible next time...because that is what it teaches. Don't exclude the poor.

So in regards to that Baboon faced fool, Micael Steele, I will dedicate this song to Obama.
Because he will need the strength of a Baboon to deal with Steele...

The world lost it's greatest pop star, I know...it was sudden and now very controversial. But things like this must happen and people must accept it and move on. As a solo artist I appreciate the time I spend in peace and quiet. Then when it's time to play my guitar, I can concentrate and focus on the music. Otherwise, being in a band seems to be a constant trip from one trial to another tribulation, or something like that. Uncle Sam's Laughing While Dad's Gettin' Fuzzy

Hey peoples! I found these jokes surfin' around Netsville:

" The best things in life are free but President Obama's tax advisors are working hard at work trying to solve that problem. "

Obama is so pretty that the new symbol of the Democrat Party will be a unicorn

Obama is so pretty that Bill Clinton wants to intern for him

Obama is so pretty that the White House Rose Garden will need to triple in size

Obama is so pretty that his anti-matter version is James Carville

Obama is so pretty that his supporters think that he's smart

Obama is so pretty that he won't ride in Ted Kennedy's car

Obama is so pretty that he would be a 10 if his Daddy owned a liquor store

Obama is so pretty that he would even look good in a Hillary pantsuit

Obama is so pretty that when he goes to Iraq he has to wear a Burka

Obama is so pretty that he gives John Edwards makeup tips

Obama is so pretty that his mirror on the wall was struck speechless

If Uncle Sam is laughing at these jokes...then
